Most Amazon sellers tend to source products from China due to cheap rates and sell at marginal profits. However, you cannot choose a random product to sell on Amazon or something that you can easily source. Sometimes, Amazon product sourcing takes a lot of time, and it’s riddled with complications, but that’s another topic.
Finding the best product on Amazon requires knowledge and command over Amazon product hunting tools and keyword hunting. Although there are several product hunting tools, I only use 3 of the best Amazon product hunting tools because of their accurate data and easy-to-understand user interface.

As the E-commerce giant Amazon became successful, many third-party organizations have launched their product hunting tools. You can find a wide variety of tools to hunt the best Amazon product, but not all of them do a fantastic job. Here are 3 Amazon product hunting tools I use to find the best products for my business.
1. JungleScout
JungleScout is one of the best Amazon product hunting tools, and I use it frequently for hunting products for my Amazon seller account. This tool has an excellent user interface, and you can store multiple products in its library. JungleScout can show relevant information about the product you are interested in, and this information is used to understand whether the product is worth the investment or not. JungleScout offers the following information.

- Revenue
- Opportunity Score
- Daily Sales
On top of this, JungleScout also has an extension which you can access and collect all the information mentioned above without navigating away from Amazon’s website.
2. Helium 10
Helium 10 is a robust Amazon product hunting tool that gets half the job done. The only reason I use other tools is to verify the product from multiple sources. Helium 10 is the first tool you have to run to hunt the best product on Amazon. This tool will find keywords related to the “criteria” you add to your product. For example, you can add the number of reviews, average selling price, product rating, and other factors you find necessary. Although JungleScout can do the same, I prefer using Helium 10 as well so that I can confirm product credibility.
Moreover, Helium 10 has a “Reverse ASIN” search which allows users to add the ASIN number of a product and find its keywords. This is a fantastic feature that helps a lot in Amazon product hunting.
3. Viral Launch
The Viral Launch is my go-to tool for identifying whether a product is seasonal, trending, or confident. It helps in understanding how long my product will last on Amazon and identifies the purchase pattern of consumers. Viral Launch is an excellent tool that should be used after finding a product and its relevant keywords.
How to Find Product Fast
If you are looking to accelerate your Amazon product hunting process, my strategy will carve a path for you. I have shared my experience and the right way to hunt a product on Amazon for your benefit. Here is how to find Amazon products fast.
1. Make an Amazon Product Criteria
Amazon product hunting is not entirely automated, and if you rely on tools all the time, you won’t make progress. If you want to hunt Amazon products fast, you need to figure out the “criteria” of your product. It’s a straightforward process where you only need to figure out your budget. Once you have a budget, open Helium 10 and go to Cerebro. Add your budget and other details you see on the main screen of Helium 10 and hit search. Your search will show different keywords and their search volume. From here, you need to open Amazon’s website and start manual working.
2. Finding a Product
After you have a list of Cerebro keywords, you need to type each one in the Amazon product search and see what results show up. Here, you should look for consistency. For example, if you search “best ice cream scoop” and “scoop cup for ice cream,” both keywords should show the same product. Otherwise, you won’t be able to determine which keywords to choose. Run multiple searches and don’t settle for the first product you find. This is because Amazon is a massive platform with unique buyers and sellers with enormous demands. There are plenty of chances you will stumble upon a particular product through keyword search and dominate the Amazon seller market.
3. Highlight Main Keyword
When you have a list of keywords In front of you, it’s hard to find the main keyword. However, the technique is pretty simple. All you need to do is find a keyword with the highest search volume and paste it on the Amazon search bar. If that keyword shows the same product as the previous one, you can safely assume that it’s the main keyword.
4. Open JungleScout Extension
After you have found a product with consistency in keywords, you can open the JungleScout extension to figure out the competition level. Simple search the main keyword and open the JungleScout extension. Since Amazon has a huge market with millions of sellers, there are strong chances you might not be able to rank on the top page with your product. To know your chances of survival on Amazon, you need to see the “Opportunity Score” on JungleScout. A high opportunity score means the product has high demand and low competition. The closer the number in the “opportunity score” is to 10, the better for you.
5. Check CPR
Assuming you have found a product with consistent keywords and a high opportunity score, it’s time to go back to Helium 10 again. Open Cerebro, and this time paste the main keyword you searched on Amazon. When you see a list of keywords, check on the extreme right, and you will see “CPR,” which stands for Cerebro Product Rating formula, and it shows how many giveaways you have to schedule in 8 days to rank on the first page of Amazon. This is a crucial step because giveaways are relatively essential to rank organically on Amazon. All you have to do is multiply the “cost” of your product with the number you see under CPR, and then, multiply the answer with 8 because CPR shares the number of giveaways per day, and you need to continue this for 8 days.
6. Open Viral Launch
After you have done the above mathematics, you have your marketing expense in front of you. If this expense meets your budget, you can then head to Viral Launch to see your product’s sales pattern. Most Amazon sellers make the mistake of ignoring Viral Launch and invest in a product only to see their sales drop after a few months. Using Viral Launch, you can predict whether your product is seasonal or confident. It’s not ideal to invest in a seasonal product unless the payout is tremendous, and you will be able to source and rank your Amazon listing before the season starts.
7. Lastly, Run Google Trends
I prefer to verify Viral Launch results before finalizing my product because online tools aren’t 100% reliable. So, all you have to do is paste the same main keyword and check its trend on Google. However, this might not be very clear for beginners, because Google trends show results for searches on Google, not Amazon. Anyway, I find this step helpful; by entering my keyword on Google and see how many “affiliate marketing articles” are on the internet for the product. If there are plenty of well-written affiliate marketing articles, I prefer to stay away from my product because it would be fairly expensive and challenging to rank.
4 Characteristics of a Good Amazon Product
These characteristics serve as a benchmark you need to meet to consider your product hunt successful. Many Amazon sellers have their product characteristics, but I follow these industry guide product characteristics for my Amazon products.
1. Retain Price
Retail price is the cost-to-cost amount you are willing to sell on. This price does not include your profit margin or anything else. It’s the same price you will find after you budget Amazon product sourcing or manufacturing. The retail price should be $25-$50 because you want to start with a buyer’s budget-friendly product.
2. Less Than 200 Reviews
The average reviews for your competitor’s products should be less than 200. Otherwise, ranking your listing would be complicated.
3. Small and Lightweight
Size and weight are factors for Amazon product sourcing, but they should be clarified during the Amazon product hunting section. What you should be looking for is something you can fit in a shoebox and lightweight. Otherwise, you will have to pay for the additional shipping and Amazon FBA cost.
4. Has Room for Improvement
This is an abstract part, and no tool can help you find improvements in a product unless you invest your time in understanding it. Remember, you can’t skip this part because buyers won’t buy your product unless you offer something different from your competitors. So, take a closer look into the product you are willing to sell and highlight changes that will benefit the buyer.
